For Trauma Survivors

Look beyond talk therapy

Starting therapy can feel like a daunting step. And when facing deep emotional pain, words alone don't always feel like enough. Even with the insights gained through talk therapy, some feelings can remain stubbornly out of reach.

You might notice emotions that feel overwhelming or outsized, or a sense of disconnection from your own life, where avoidance and numbness have quietly become the default.

You don't have to navigate this alone. I'm here, and EMDR therapy can help.

My approach

Over years of practice, I've witnessed firsthand how profoundly experiences like past trauma, acute distress, or loss can shape a person's life — affecting how you see yourself, how you feel in your body, and how you connect with others. For example, someone who has experienced an assault may carry fear and a sense of unsafety long afterward. A painful childhood can leave lasting feelings of inadequacy or make it difficult to trust others as an adult.

Reaching out takes real courage. But healing is genuinely possible — and that belief is at the heart of everything I do.

Real relief

is possible.

What EMDR looks like with me

EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy, designed to reduce the emotional intensity and vividness of traumatic memories — and it's a cornerstone of how I work.

We start by taking a thorough look at your mental health history, which allows me to create a targeted plan following my clinical assessment. In our sessions, we will utilize the EMDR methodology to identify the root of your distress and process it through guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation. Over time, through a series of focused interventions, something shifts — memories that once felt overwhelming begin to loosen their hold, and what felt permanently stuck can finally move toward real resolution.

My approach to EMDR is grounded in years of clinical experience and a deep education in clinical psychology — and it's always tailored to your schedule and your readiness to heal.

This means listening carefully while also guiding you toward the sources of distress that continue to hold you back — whether those experiences are ones you're fully aware of, or material that lives outside of your conscious awareness.

At the close of each session, you may feel a bit fatigued, but many clients also notice a sense of relief. Over time, this can mean reduced anxiety, more restful sleep, and an improved ability to function day-to-day — even while processing deeper memories. Many patients find they begin to look forward to sessions rather than dread them, as a sense of relief often comes early in the process.

Is it right for you?

I work with survivors of violence and accidents, those who have experienced childhood trauma, traumatic loss, and other deeply disturbing life events. My specialty is focused trauma resolution — particularly for those who are seeking healing beyond what long-term talk therapy has been able to offer.

Reaching out is no small thing — it takes real courage. I want to ensure we're a good fit, so I encourage you to schedule a consultation. We'll talk about what's brought you here, what healing looks like for you, and whether my approach feels right for your journey.

Not Designed For

Not recommended for ongoing, complex trauma, severe or chronic mental health needs.

How it works

Intake

We start with a 90-minute intake session to cover your mental health history and any relevant information you wish to share. We’ll discuss current life stressors, pinpoint your symptoms, and clarify your treatment goals. We'll understand why you need relief now, and precisely what to address to get to the root of your current distress.

Relief

Following the intake, we'll work together to identify how many 90-minute sessions seem right for you. Many patients find meaningful relief within 6 to 12 sessions.
We'll identify traumatic disturbances as precisely as possible and begin using EMDR and Flash techniques to process those memories in a safe, contained, and structured environment. This work reduces the emotional weight of recalling difficult memories — even those that feel fragmented or incomplete. The focus is on actively reprocessing trauma in a way that translates into real, meaningful improvements in daily life.

Revision

As we process past disturbances, we'll also explore how your history connects to present-day stressors — helping you build a deeper sense of security in your life today. The EMDR protocol is uniquely comprehensive in this way: it addresses triggers rooted in the past, targets what is distressing in the present, and anticipates future worries as well. This is healing that works across time — past, present, and future.

We'll check in regularly to reflect on how you're feeling and how far you've come. My goal is to help you heal from trauma in a way that lasts — supporting not just your recovery, but your long-term wellbeing.

Many find meaningful relief in fewer than 12 sessions, though this varies depending on your unique set of experiences and symptoms.
